Re: Bugari owners

Nice! Yeah, hard to say which reeds are “better”. I asked Kimric Smythe about the differences between Binci and others and he said “control” and what I might describe as timbre. With different types of music, you might prefer different types of reeds. Think I mentioned this before, but I’m getting ...

I don't know one, but I think it should be doable. Sort of like PDFtomusic but with fingering as extra step

Re: Air leaks ? (Lucia IV P)

A cunning plan I haven't tried yet: pump warm air in via the air valve and use a thermal imaging camera to find the leaks :) Unfortunately thermal imaging cameras are not cheap, but it would be interesting to know if that works. Although that is a cool idea, I think that will not work. The imaging ...

Re: Internal mic comparison

For example, #3 sounds the best on my Bose speakers, but #2 sounds the best on my Sennheiser headphones and #4 sounds the best on my laptop speakers. If the pickup is lacking in certain frequencies they won't be heard on any sound system. So we want the truest representation of the source. What hap...

Re: Recording a Accordion

I agree with the Zoom. The H2 is superceded by the H2n. It can double as a usb micro if you want to record into your computer.

Maybe treat your room a bit. You can go a long way with some sheets/blankets to remove the most harsh echoes.

Re: Midi din ports being fazed out?

Could you post some feedback about the Roland Go Keys when you get to it? I've considered it as a portable stage piano once, but never got the chance to really test one. Would be nice to hear the opinion of a performer.

Re: Audio poll!

As far as the mic samples, I would only use my internal mics in a loud band context. If the stage is big, even with a band I'd go back to a good external mic. It just seems to me that the box of the accordion is so cramped that internal mics would always be a "not so good" compromise, I agree. But ...

I guess this will be almost impossible to judge on a recording but it's fun to try  Do your builtins work? Probably Sennheisers MT-04. Re: Midi din ports being fazed out?

Well it says: "MIDI data received at the MIDI In socket will be sent to the USB device. MIDI data received from the USB device will be sent to the MIDI Out socket."

So if both systems are compliant it should work?

Maybe try the microArranger from Korg. Highly portable, midi i/o and cheap.

Re: Bugari owners

Well describing the sound is a hard task for me, I can say I was not very experienced with quality instruments before this one. It just feels very nice to play. For me the absolute winner is the low treble reed (single L reg). I use that all the time now, for it is beautiful and uniform, terrific re...
