Re: Collective Nouns.

Considering how they are obstructing the route to my side of the bed, I might suggest an 'obstruction'

I feel under-qualified to comment on many of the topics on this forum. Not so this one!

Re: chord progressions

C Am F G (or C Am F G7) repeated is very common, especially in songs from the late 50's / early 60's. Most doowop uses this chord sequence. The song 'Those Magic Changes" from Grease is all about that chord sequence and it's magic
Other examples include the Lambada and Tous les Garcons et les Filles

Re: Accordion Badge Identification

Many thanks for all the replies - I have now found pictures of Vermonas with this badge. And nice to get confirmation of the Sonola which I'm very pleased with

Accordion Badge Identification

I recently bought an accordion on eBay labelled as 'Bell' but I'm fairly certain it's a Sonola based on the badge. Sonola4.png Now there's another one - I can't identify the badge this time. mystery.png https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bell-Vintage-Piano-Accordion/253561466437?hash=item3b0970ee45:g:BjMAAO...

Re: serenelli accordion legit or fake?

Looks legit to me. Probably 1940's/50's because of the waterfall keyboard (info from Jim :) )
There was more than one Serenelli involved in accordion manufacture - see http://www.accordions.com/articles/chronology.aspx

Re: who made this accordion?

If it's Italian, you might get some clues here: http://www.accordions.com/articles/chronology.aspx

Some options from this list are:
CARLO MAFFEI
MIMMO CATOLFI
CARBONARI MARINO

but I can't find any pictures of any of these to compare with yours
then again, perhaps its not Italian

Re: The smaller the accordion, the longer the straps

Yes, it took me 2 years to work that out. :) Strangely, my smallest accordion has the shortest original straps. I suppose I'm meant to play it standing up
