Some Cajun Tunes : Port Arthur Blues http://youtu.be/_0gtDmywnp4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; --- or --- http://youtu.be/eZ-Xc8OVEYg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ....Two versions of the same song

...totally different in concept and delivery . Which says more about Cajun ...essentially it is an oral / aural tradition and
songs and tunes are open to interpretation....and why I can't find a score for it ....!!

Joli Blon http://youtu.be/yteXz_J1Nlk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; --------or-------------- http://youtu.be/BGG48U8ljNE" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The first film clip would be more Zydeco but demonstrates excellently the fusion of Cajun

into into the Zydeco style . The second clip is traditional Cajun.

Parlez - Nous a Boire (This is performed by the Balfa brothers and Marc Savoy in the film Southern Comfort) http://youtu.be/iMzysRahEXs" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.traditionalmusic.co.uk/sessi ... _boire.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Flames De ' Enfer http://youtu.be/CGYcRbv68zU" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

again a search for free sheet music proved fruitless.......there are some versions available ,but they are mostly in books

and not seperate sheets....

Cajun Two Step, Don't Mess with My Toot Toot and of course Jambalaya although written by a non Cajun does seem to

be very popular on the Cajun Billboard.......and of course Bill of Fare....as you check the video links you can of course research other songs and tunes ...

these above are my own "first steps" as it were ....

So....Laissez La Bon Temps Roulez............

Haha ,not yet ,but thanks for the offer....next quarter perhaps...the Electricity Company were supposed to be doing some work which required a mains shut off from about 12:30.....as I am typing this an hour later...!!! perhaps not ....

As to the new box . {} .....smashing little thing ....but happily agreed to and endorsed by the financial division of controllers of the Jarvis purse... :b .there will no doubt be a reckoning in the future....I feel a new wardrobe and bedroom suite coming on .........or similar :hb Still , can't grumble.

Actually I can and frequently do.....to be fair.

What better tune for song of the month than Jolie blon, One of the most popular and played by everyone, some times known as the Louisiana national anthem.

Here is Octa Clarks (one of my favorite players) version pure Cajun

You can compare it to Cliftons Zydeco version (given in the link above and copied below) and that will give you a real start on defining the two genres for you

there are a million great versions of this song just look up the tune on utube

Going right back to basics - here is Cleoma Breaux and Joe Falcon in an early recording(circa 1928) ...simple and basic but unmistakably cajun.
