Zoltan Orosz plays French jazz

Post by maugein96 » Sat Aug 11, 2018 8:50 pm

I've heard Galliano play "Fou Rire" and didn't really like it much at all.

Zoltan Orosz, a Hungarian, who specialises in Balkan music, eventually convinced me that it was worth listening to with this rendition:-

IMHO this guy is one of the finest current accordionists in the world.

Years ago, I went to one of his concerts in Bruges, Belgium. He is certainly one of the finest accordionists I have ever seen.

Short interview with Zoltan Orosz about the accordion:

Stephen,

Thanks for that link. Proves my theory that you need to start very young and play many hours in a day if you want to get half as good as that. The sound quality from his accordions are superb, and even although I don't play Balkan style I rate Balkan type instruments as the finest sounding accordions there are.

Very few people will have heard of Zoltan Orosz, which is a pity. IMHO Galliano, great as he is, is just not in the same league as this guy.
